Events:Sixers : Playground Rebound

The Playground Rebound program uses basketball as its hook and creates a safe haven for youth in the Greater Philadelphia Region. We provide opportunities to learn and play the sport of basketball and encourage kids to participate in after school activities and functions.

Sixers Unveil Playground At Wesley House Shelter

Comcast-Spectacor Foundation and Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Philadelphia Region partnered on the Sixers Charities Playground Rebound initiative.  Together, the partnership helped the 68-bed facility serving homeless families in Delaware County expand their outdoor recreation area with $40,000 in upgrades to the playground. This marked the final phase of the shelter’s $1.3 million overall renovation. The finished playground includes a new outdoor basketball court with the 76ers logo reproduced at center court, and a garden where a Ronald McDonald statue sits on a bench. Children on hand were excited by the new facilities and also to see one of their favorite Sixers players. Following the court unveiling, Dalembert spent time shooting some hoops with the kids in attendance before taking a full tour of the facility.
