2011 BEARD-A-THON RAISES $28,942 FOR CHARITY! Flyers fans raised $28,942 for the Comcast-Spectacor Charities by participating in the 2011 Beard-a-thon.  More than 500 hockey fans joined in on this great hockey tradition and raised money for local causes.  Participants in the Beard-a-thon vowed to grow and maintain a playoff beard during the duration of the Flyers run in the NHL Playoffs.  Beard growers invited family, friends, and colleagues to pledge their playoff beards.  Fans were also able to pledge their favorite Flyer.  Top grower Ryan Gehman of Denver, PA raised $1,670 and received a trip to the Caribbean, courtesy of Apple Vacations.
