Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How much does it cost to order the plate?
A. For Pennsylvania Flyers Charities license plates, the fee is $50, payable to the Comcast-Spectacor Foundation.  Additionally, there is a yearly renewal fee of $10, payable to the Comcast-Spectacor Foundation (this is in addition to the standard annual registration fee due to the state).

A: For Delaware Flyers Charities license plates, the fee is $50 as well, however, fans wishing to select a specific number (subject to availability between 1-200), the fee is $100.

A:  For New Jersey, once the program reaches the state required number of applicants, the fee will also be $50, or $100 for a specific number (subject to availability between 1000-1500).

Q. Is it tax deductible?
A. A portion of the payment is tax-deductible and varies by state.

Pennsylvania: $30 is tax-deductible.
Delaware: $40 is tax-deductible.
New Jersey: $25 is tax-deductible.

Q. I ordered my Flyers Charities license plate. How long until I receive it?
A.  PA License Plates:  The Foundation sends applications to the PA Dept. of Transportation every 2-4 weeks After receiving the application, it will be sent to Harrisburg with the next group of applications. Once your application has been received in Harrisburg, you should receive your plate in approximately 8-10 weeks.

A. Delaware License Plates: We are in the process of collecting payment and application forms from the last of our 200 applicants.  Once that step is complete, we should have a better sense of the initial process.

NJ License Plates:  Due to certain restrictions with NJ, we are required to receive a certain number of applications before being able to submit the first batch of applications.  You will be notified by our office when we reach that number and continue to check the website for updates. 

Q.  Will the License Plate come directly to my house or will it go to Comcast-Spectacor Foundation?
A.  For Pennsylvania plates, they will be mailed directly to your house.

Q.  Can I make a special request for a number?
A. New Jersey and Delaware: Applicants may request a specific number, at an additional fee, for the first batch of plates.  After the first batch is sent, specific numbers are no longer available.
A. Pennsylvania: Specific numbers are no longer available as the first batch has already been sent.

Q. Can I get a Flyers Charities plate for my motorcycle?
A.  Unfortunately, specialty plates are not available for motorcycles and trailers.

Q. I have a handicapped plate. Can I still get a Flyers Charities license plate?
A. Specialty license plates are not issued as handicapped plates; however, you may order your Flyers Charities license plate, and then apply for a handicapped placard through your state DMV/MVC.

Q. What charities does my donation support?
A.  Donations made to the Comcast-Spectacor Foundation through the License Plate and other fundraisers throughout the season help support many local charities aimed at helping youth organizations and various healthcare initiatives. Organizations such as: the Police Athletic League, Rubye’s Kids, Girl Scouts of America, Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society and United Way, are among a list of beneficiaries of the Comcast-Spectacor Foundation.
