When you think of Flyers Charities, you think of the Flyers Wives Fight For Lives Carnival, a genuine family affair that involves the participation of the Flyers' players, management, staff, alumni and their families. The first Carnival was held February 1, 1977, and raised nearly $100,000. While the Flyers Wives Carnival is our largest event, Flyers Charities hosts various fundraisers throughout the year, including: Trial on the Isle, Players Favorite Things Basket Auction, Stick Auction and the popular Philadelphia Flyers Celebrity Golf Tournament.
The money raised during fundraising initiatives has helped Comcast-Spectacor Charities assist many local beneficiaries such as, but not limited to: Arthur Ashe Youth Tennis & Education Center, Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation, YMCA, Philadelphia Youth Network, Firefly Literacy Fund, Virtua Foundation, Penn Hospice at Rittenhouse, Foundation for Melanoma Research, and Living Beyond Breast Cancer.
